Owner of Bebop and cie, Kim Cornelissen is soon to have her Master Degree in Urban Studies from the School of Management, Université du Québec à Montréal (diploma pending). She also has a bachelor degree in urban planning (1998 - same) and another one in jazz guitar and composition (1986 – Concordia U.)
Her knowledge is based on academic studies but also on very different work experiences, including being a marketing copywriter, a technical translator in electrical engineering, a general manager of cultural and employment groups, a journalist and a resource-person for many different groups. She has worked both in English and French, for public and private companies.
She has published many articles about biofuels, including book chapters, memoirs, in both regular and specialized magazines, in French, English and Swedish. She has written many guides, mostly but not exclusively for the Montérégie Est’s Region Network of Women Mayors and Town Councillors. She has given conferences and workshops for the three main municipal unions (FQM, FCM and UMQ) and is regularly hired to do conferences on local politics, gender equality, biofuels or sustainable development.
